Things to Do

• Hike!

Smith Rock State Park is awesome. The views (and vibes) were very desert like. There are a ton of hikes to choose from​. Be careful if you're going in the summer months, we went in July and temps were over 100 degrees and there could be rattle snakes within the area. Although we didn't see any (thank god), hike at your own risk ;) A day pass for the park is $5.

We would have loved to do some strenuous, lengthy hikes, but since the temps were so high, the heat got to us, so we chose to act smart & stick to the hikes under 3 miles.

Hikes we did:

Wolf Tree Trail to Burma and back (approx. 2.8 miles)

River Trail (approx. 2.5 miles) (For this one we typically stayed on one side of Smith Rock, and chose when to turn around so we didn't really complete the full thing) Beautiful sites though!

Don't underestimate State Parks. Although National Parks are more common, the scenery was breathtaking and I would suggest anyone to visit that is in the Terrebonne, Oregon area! I myself would definitely go again and try out some more hikes.

Oregon is simply amazing. One day we are in 70 degree weather with so much greenery, the next we are in 110 degree weather with a desert like atmosphere. I'd recommend seeing as much of it as you can.

* FRESH WATER is also available by the welcome center. We were living out of a van and camping our entire road trip so this was essential everywhere we went. We filled up all of our containers, camelbaks, shower, etc with any fresh water we found on our journey *
