NASHVILLE

Places to Stay

The hotel I stayed at when visiting Nashville was Hotel Indigo and I went during the month of May.

Great location! This hotel was only about 3 blocks or so from Broadway which is where all the action is for downtown Nashville. The hotel was far enough away where you weren't directly in the chaos, but close enough where you can walk to and from Broadway each day/night.

Things to Do

I can't take full credit for the recommendations from this point on, as my good friend Danielle had recommended most of these things before I left for my trip.  But I did all of them, and then some! Therefore I highly suggest these things as well. PS - go check out her travel blog when you get a chance! DaniellesDirection.com

• Pedal Tavern!

This was my most memorable part of the trip.  Pedal your way through town, while this tavern on wheels blasts music, and does a pub crawl. As you're pedaling you'll also be enjoying some drinks (you have to bring your own and you'll need to bring cups to drink out of.  My sister and I purchased cups with a straw to avoid spilling anything)  We chose to do the "Midtown route" as this was a different area in Nashville where the locals hang out.  This allowed us to see other parts of Nashville and get away from the craziness "Broadway" was. Also, I'd recommend doing this tour during the day, especially if you're there during warmer weather.  Nothing beats cruising around town, day drinking, music blasting, with the sun out! Check it out here: https://www.nashvillepedaltavern.com/

• Grand Ole Opry
Where all the country artists play. Super iconic venue! Unfortunately when I went there was an event going on so they did not let us inside. We still admired the outside and walked around. You'll most likely need to take a cab and/or uber here as it's further away from everything.

• Ryman Theatre
This is the old Grand Ole Opry.  Very cool to see.  We did a tour (I believe it was around $20) and got to see a lot of history within this Theatre. This is really close to Broadway so if you're staying around there, you can walk here.

• Joyride
These are people on golf carts that take you around town (for FREE!) All you have to do is tip them. This was really cool to do. Give them a call: 615-285-9835

Bars

Every single bar has live music. It's awesome! Most bars have multiple floors, and each floor has a different band. Check out as many places as you can on Broadway.  This is the street where most bars are located.

• Honkey Tonk Central

This is a MUST see.  This bar was awesome and pretty much right in the middle of all the action. 3 floors, all having different live country artists performing.  Gets crazy, and crowded, but tons of fun!

• Tootsie's
Famous bar where a ton of country artists started out. This place gets extremely crowded.  Or at least it did on a Saturday night when I was there.  We only stayed for about 15 minutes because we could barely move.  Still cool to pop in and say you were there. Or maybe go earlier in the day/night.

• Legends
Laid back bar.  We were able to get seats here at the bar and just enjoyed the live music.

• The Stage
One of my favorites.  Like most of the other bars, this has a few floors.  When I went it was pretty open and not too crowded, such a great time.  The one floor I was mostly on had an outdoor area that overlooked the entire strip of Broadway. Really cool atmosphere and view!

• Margaritaville

Never lets me down! This was right in the middle of all the action, and across the street from the Honkey Tonk.  We went here a couple times on our trip, even if it was just for a drink. Very chill vibe, and windows were open so you can people watch everyone on the streets.

• George Jones Rooftop

This was located off of Broadway, but definitely still walk-able. Indoor/outdoor bar that opens up to a rooftop overlooking the Nissan Stadium, where the Tennessee Titans play. Beautiful view of Nashville!

Restaurants

Fried food and BBQ everywhere you look! Tons of restaurants downtown. Here's just a few of my favorites that I went to.

• Party Fowl

We actually took the golf cart here! See above under "Things to Do" for the phone number to Joyride.  Food was amazing. I got the chicken tenders with the Nashville hot sauce. I love spicy food, but eat at your own risk! These were SO spicy, took me quite some time to finish even just 1 chicken finger. WORTH IT though.

• The Tavern
This is located in Midtown (where more of the locals go) Nice and quiet area, and gets you away from the rush over at Broadway for a little. We had brunch here which was great, but looks great for lunch and/or dinner too.

• Another Broken Egg Cafe

Nice little breakfast spot right around the corner from Broadway.

• 417 Union

Another great little breakfast spot on a side street close to Broadway.
