BAHAMAS

Places to Stay

I've been to Bahamas 4 times! 2 times as stops during a cruise, and 2 times staying in Nassau. This particular post focuses on my most recent stay in 2020 where I stayed at Meliá Nassau Beach All Inclusive (only about 15 minutes away from the airport)

This hotel was awesome! Below are some highlights to name a few:
• All inclusive - with amazing food and endless amounts of drinks
• 3-4 different pools
• 2 hot tubs
• Swim up bar
• Huge outdoor bar
• Volleyball on the beach
• Ping pong tables by the pool
• Basketball court by the pool
• Other smaller beach games
• Tons of lounge chairs both at the pool and at the beach
• Kayaks and paddle boarding available right on the beach (FREE!)
• Jet skiing and parasailing available (with an additional fee)
• 7 different restaurants
• Ocean view balcony's (photo below)
• Karaoke right at the hotel (this happened on 2 nights during my stay)
• Lobby games such as life size jenga, checkers, etc.

The hotel itself was super clean with amazing staff. I'd recommend this place to anyone - singles, couples, families, & seniors. You'll have everything you need all in one place! Also, being from New York this was a quick 2 1/2 - 3 hour flight straight to paradise ;)

Things to Do

• Stay right at the hotel

Honestly, everything you need to do is right within this hotel. Take advantage of the all inclusive and everything this place has to offer!

• Visit the Daiquiri Shack

This cute little shack is located right across the street from the hotel. You walk out the lobby and you'll be there in about 100 feet. AMAZING island vibes with awesome island inspired music. They have tons of daiquiri flavors to choose from and you can mix and match and create your own. Fresh fruit also available, I was given a fresh mango (for free) which was delicious!

• Walk over to the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar

This is another hotel directly next to the Meliá. We went here for one night and ended up having a blast. There is a HUGE casino (felt like I was in Vegas), with some pretty cool casino bars. We found one with a huge bar and a live DJ that played amazing music. This hotel was beautiful, I would have loved an extra day to explore it a bit more.
