LAS VEGAS

Places to Stay

I've been to Vegas 4 times! I had the privilege in going for an annual work event each year, and then 1 other time I went for my friends bachelorette party. I've stayed at 3 different hotels.

I've stayed at the Venetian which is a beautiful hotel. I stayed here 2 different times and loved it. The rooms are HUGE and it's in a pretty central area on the strip. The pool area here is also awesome. They have a pool area that is more laid back and then they have a separate area for their TAO beach pool party which is convenient when staying here. I liked this pool party, not as crazy as Rehab or Wet Republic, and was much smaller.

I've also stayed the the Rio which was off the strip. I only stayed here once and probably wouldn't again only because it was a little inconvenient when you wanted to venture out to the strip.

Lastly, I stayed at the Cosmopolitan when I went for my friends bachelorette party. This hotel was gorgeous and perfect for a girls trip. We had a pretty sweet room too that had an awesome view.

Things to Do

• Go into as many hotels as you can

Each hotel is so different from one another. I'd make it a point to go in as many as you can, check out all the different casinos and unique styles they all have.

• Ride the roller coaster at New York New York

I only did this once. I love roller coasters so this was pretty fun. It takes place at the New York New York hotel, and the ride extends to the outdoors over looking the strip.

• See a show

If I ever went back to Vegas I would absolutely want to see some more live entertainment. I did however check out "thunder from down under" one year at my work event (with all the girls of course!). Pretty much a version of "magic mike" with Australians.

• Check out all the pool parties Vegas has to offer

I've been to Rehab (located at the Hard Rock Hotel), Tao Beach Party (located at the Venetian), Drai's Beachclub (located at the Cromwell), & Marquee Day Club (located at the Cosmopolitan). The only one out of this bunch that I thought was a little too crazy was Rehab... so crowded and we went on a day that was about 120 degrees. Awesome experience to do at least once though. My favorites are Tao and Marquee. I'd have to say Marquee is my top favorite though!

Restaurants / Bars / Clubs

Although I'm not really into the "club" scene as I've gotten older, when in Vegas sometimes you just gotta experience it. Here's a list of a variety of places..

• Lavo

Amazing Italian restaurant located in between the Venetian and the Palazzo. I went here probably 3 different times. The Kobe beef meatballs are some of the best I've ever tasted! Nice upscale restaurant if you're looking to wine and dine and dress up a little bit. Later in the night there is a club upstairs if you're feeling like checking that out after dinner.

• Gilley's

Pretty much in the center of the strip and is a really awesome bar giving off those country vibes. Plays country music and even has line dancing going on. I love it here! They've got mechanical bull riding too which I've never done but it's always fun to watch.

• Senor Frogs

You can never go wrong with Senor Frogs, and if you're looking for this kind of vibe, even on the Las Vegas strip, stop in for some drinks and/or food.

• Margaritaville

Another one you can't go wrong with. They have an outdoor area that you can sit at for some lunch, overlooking the strip.

• TAO Nightclub

https://www.taolasvegas.com

I actually liked this club, mainly because it was HUGE so you never felt like you were packed in with hundreds of other people. You really had room to move and walk around and enjoy yourself. When I went there was literally girls/dancers in baths filled with rose pedals (only in Vegas haha).

• Marquee Nightclub

https://www.marqueelasvegas.com/

This is connected to the Marquee pool which is really cool because at night when the club opens you can either choose to be inside or outside by the pool. Music was blasting and bars were open in both areas, and it was a good time all around.

• Voodoo Lounge

This is located at the Rio (which is off the strip, but not far at all) and in my opinion is worth checking out if you want to catch a cab one night. This is one of the most amazing views, because even though you're off the strip you have the chance to view the strip and pretty much all of Vegas nightlife from a distance! There is an indoor area as well. Try the "witch doctor" cocktail if you go. Photograph below of me holding one of these crazy things. I pretty much took 2 sips and that was enough for me... SO sweet and strong, and probably the biggest drink I've ever ordered.
