PALM SPRINGS, CA

Places to Stay

My friends and I went to Coachella, located in Indio, CA, in 2017 and chose to stay about 30-40 minutes away in Palm Springs, at the Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel

Really beautiful hotel with a great pool and outdoor area. The festival was 3 days long, so we chose to stay here for 3 nights, 4 days.

We flew into Los Angeles, rented a car, and drove down to Palm Springs.

This particular hotel provided shuttle service to and from Coachella which was super convenient.  We purchased our shuttle passes beforehand. You'll want to do this to ensure they get mailed to you on time. Shuttle passes were about $75 for the entire weekend. You can do this right through their website and choose what weekend you'll be going: https://www.coachella.com/guidebook/passes/

If you stay at this hotel, or choose a different one, I would just make sure they are on the master "list" of hotels that provide shuttle services. Or call the hotel directly to be sure. I'm not sure if this list changes year after year.

Things to Do

• Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival

This is the main reason we visited Palm Springs. I have always wanted to go to Coachella (at least once in my life) and experience what it's all about.

I am SO glad I went.  I loved every minute of it and am so happy I can cross this off my bucket list. Good music, good atmosphere, good vibes all around!

I always envied those that went to Woodstock. Well, I like to think Coachella was a very close version.

If you decide to go, bring tons of sunscreen, and bring some sort of hat or bandana to cover your face. I didn't need it all the time but you will be inhaling a bunch of dust/dirt. See as many bands as you can, and try as much food as you can. The food vendors were unreal and there was so much to choose from.

NOTE: You cannot drink throughout the entire festival.  If you want to grab a beer (or any type of alcoholic beverage) there are designated areas in which you can go into (all are still outside) in which you can hang out in and enjoy some drinks.

I unfortunately don't have much else to recommend since we really only stayed at our hotel or were at the festival the entire time we were here. BUT Palm Springs was beautiful.  I am such a Cali girl but have never been to it's "desert" side.  Extremely hot the entire time we were there but still an awesome place and time. I would definitely go back to see what else Palm Springs has to offer.
